Okay, so the service that I was using (formerly Audioscrobbler) to do the music stuff changed their web services. So, i wrote a new Magpie thing (more or less) from scratch. Source is available at http://rcboyce.com/projects/php/as/audio.txt and is under the same Creative Commons license as the original.
Requires Magpie to interpret the feed.

Step-by step instructions on the Audioscrobbler Wiki.

I also plan on making the projects page have actual info at some point.

Also, you can pick a theme from the dropdown in the sidebar. I actually like k2 a lot, primarily for its Javascript search thingy.
The music script only shows up on this theme (for now). I think I’ll do some modifications to k2 later though.

ladeda

Bleah I was sick again yesterday. Oh well, I didn’t really miss out on much. I forgot to ask for my history and English tests back though…. I was the first one to turn in the physics quiz (it was really easy), so I got most of the math homework done after that.

Jimmy’s trying to pressure me into doing something that might not be a good idea. I hope that the information lea doesn’t flow both ways… otherwise I’ll have to call for backup from Abby .

boring

I think today was more eventful than yesterday, because the dance was boring.

another average day

Calc homework tonight was more like what I’d been expecting… unfortunately. I guess it wasn’t even that long. I missed a question on the physics quiz, i think. :( I think I did well on the Japanese test though. The upcoming history test makes me a little nervous though. I guess seem to know stuff well enough in class. I think maybe I’ll do some HTML and CSS before bed. :P

今日

I had a pretty busy (but good!) day today. I got back my math test, had a 99. That’s probably one of the top scores in the class. It’s a good thing I did so well, or else I’d feel bad about not studying. I lost a point for leaving off units again… Fitness was good; Doug just had us do 4 warmup laps and then we just talked about class and stuff. Music club recital (I forgot my instrument, Mike brought it in some time before lunch) went okay-ish for me. I guess I got kinda nervous and hadn’t warmed up at all. History test is moved back, which may or may not be good. Physics is still really boring. English isn’t all that interesting either, I suppose. I sucked at playing piano in theory, but oh well. I knew the stuff we went over today pretty well. Jazz band after school was surprisingly good. I’m glad Tony was there so I had someone to talk to. I guess Jono is it too tho. Both bands are actually pretty good, but second band isn’t very well balanced (and has no bass player). I went over to Green St. with Sam and Scott cause they needed dinner after soccer. (I was there early cause my sister had swimming at Urbana.) We played some pretty awesome stuff in JB1.

I still need to finish math :(

iTunes 5

The interface of iTunes 5 is, i think, an improvement on 4.x. Playlist folders are nice, even if they don’t work on the iPod. (iPod nano looks awesome, but doesn’t support Firewire docking? Weird.) I have some issues with the new iTunes interface, the biggest being the dangerously sharp corners. Here’s an illustration:
iTunes 5 vs. standard OS X window

UHOH I POSTED COPYRIGHTED CODE ONLINE!

fire coming out of the monkey’s head

Ladeda. I went up to the Beef House in Covington with Grandma Brown for Mike’s (one day early) birthday lunch. The rolls were, as always, excellent. I ordered chicken and noodles, and it ended up not being what I expected (like chicken alfredo or something) but more like chicken noodle soup minus the broth. It wasn’t bad though.

Also, I got the Offspring’s new track off their new greatest hits album (not a very good song), as well as all of Smash (a good album).

nothing in particular

This is a post I started writing sometime during the week…

The dance was… not bad. I didn’t do anything particularly interesting, since I spent almost the whole time avoiding the 100 degree attic and the painfully loud music. I’m pretty sure most dances aren’t that loud…. Still, sitting in the lounge and listening to Abbey Road (and some of Americana) was pretty nice. Horace was trashed by Domier (singlehandedly!) and thus gained subbie lounge privileges. Not much progress in our oh-so-subtle plan tho. Josh, Ian, Luke, and I did a pretty good job of hiding Krista’s water bottle.

Yeah. So this week hasn’t been particularly eventful for me. Homework load has been fairly light. ECIYO audition went well; no other trombones have auditioned so far.

Also, there’s a new header image, in case you didn’t notice. Leave a comment if you like.
