the reindeer effect

Got a new bottle of valve oil and some Slide-O-Mix at the Music Shoppe today after my haircut. I’ve somehow played the trombone for 3 years without buying any sort of slide cream stuff. This seems to work really well though. I’ve also found a pretty cool solo to play, although 3 of the 5 movements are pretty far out of my reach for the time being. I seem to be woefully unprepared for IMEA this year (only doing euphonium this year), but it is the hardest of the three pieces that they cycle through. I’m still pretty worried about the scales too though. I guess I’ve still got around 2 months to practice.
