last day of class

Wow. It’s kind of hard to believe that it’s really the end of the school year already. Last year, summer really seemed just out of reach for most of 4th quarter. This time, I didn’t even start considering summer until the last round of tests and projects and stuff came along last week. It really only just struck me that school is now over. Oh sure, there are still finals to deal with, but classes are all done. There is no homework to be had from here until the dreaded days of late August. As such, I am happy. Not even the math final can bring me down now. I’m actually pretty well prepared for that at this point, I think. I’m a bit more worried about English, since I’m borderline there. No fun times at Grainger tomorrow, since I have 3 finals. Thursday, though, I’m bringing anime to watch as a form of studying for the Japanese final. I’ll also be setting up my new computer after school. :D And then Friday is Disorientation. Sweet.

more PHP

Learned a little more about arrays and PHP today. The “Recent Music” list in the sidebar is now limited to three songs, so it won’t take up too much vertical space. If you think I should change this value or something, leave a comment.

biking

It seems that summer’s here a few days early. Spent a few hours out with Marquis, Abby, Jimmy, & his brother Chris (who’s pretty cool), and later Domier & Mo. We basically just rode around Ironwood for a while. I think things went pretty well for Jimmy and Sobh, but I guess it was a little boring for the rest of us. I still enjoyed it though. I probably should have been studying though.

music

Ok, the Audioscrobbler sidebar addition is now working. I had to use a PHP inlcude to get it to work though, and I don’t know why. Whatever, as long as it works.

leeties

Check out the links page. Using Magpie to interpret my del.icio.us feed and show the 10 newest links. I was trying to do something with my Audioscrobbler feed, but it’s getting a bit late and I was running into some inexplicable 403 errors…. Whatever. I’ll figure something out.

終りを見

The end of the school year is nearly upon us! Just one day of class left to go. I find myself fairly well prepared for all of my finals, though I expect math and, to a lesser extent, chemistry, to be fairly hard. Since Japanese is largely multiple choice, I’m pretty well set there. I do want to review a couple grammar points before taking it, but that’s about it. Chemistry might be a bit of a pain, but it’s supposed to be largely focused on equilibrium systems, which I’ve been pretty good at. It’s too bad I forgot my chem workbook…. Math, of course, will be nasty, but I’m stuck with a B in the class no matter how well I score, so not a lot of pressure there I guess. I’d still like to do well. English looks pretty easy. I haven’t completely thought out my essays though, and could use a little review of the vocab and quotes. I guess I haven’t studied for it as much as the others. I also need to finish my "Metaphor of War" paper rewrite.

short

Orchestra concert went pretty well, Krannert was cool. Internet keeps dying on me, so I’m out I guess.

ubuntu

Posting this from Linux (running off an Ubuntu LiveCD). Wanted to make sure drivers for my wireless card were fairly standard. Things are actually runnign quite smoothly.
Also, I got a iMac G5 20"… but can’t use it until after finals. Pretty much the standard package, except it’s got a full gig of RAM and the Apple Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. I dunno about that one-button mouse though.
Anyway, I missed the first 4 periods today, although I didn’t exactly miss out on much. I didn’t get to practice the Japanese stuff (which I don’t have to do until Wednesday), didn’t get to see the end of Rushmore (which I suppose is unfortunate), and have to make up height & weight and grip strength in PE. I made it in for the history and math tests and also brought in the chem project. Jono screwed up two titrations in a row in chemistry today…. He’d better get that done tomorrow during his free period. We only have a few days left….

eciyo spring concert

Concert went quite well in general. No big mistakes in my solos….

Program, more to be added later?
Shostakovich’s Festive Overture
Copland’s Rodeo (Buckaroo Holiday, Corral Nocturne, Saturday Night Waltz, Hoe-Down)
Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante (Allegro Maestoso) solo piece
Borodin’s Polovetsian Dances from Prince Igor (#9 and #17)

argh

I’m so damn sick…. This sucks. Daniel says the Japanese thing isn’t until Thursday, so that’s good. History and algebra exams tomorrow are gonna blow though. I somehow managed to get the chemistry ad done and burned as a DVD (as well as a CD with the Quicktime file on it). I’m kinda annoyed about having had to do almost all of the work in my group (of 3, not the big one), but I guess it isn’t that bad, as long as Jono and (inferior) Robert do most of the work on the titration and stuff. History I should hopefully be able to keep up a decent grade in…. Math I really need to do well on though. The material isn’t exactly hard I guess, but I have a tendency to screw up on math tests, and that’s only compounded by illness.
