Local root own for OSX
Known since March and still no patch… 10.3.9 apparently doesn’t fix it, so Tiger probably wont help either. Just don’t let anyone touch your computer.

Also, nice new cluster over at DCL. Mmm Xserve G5s.

Adobe to Acquire Macromedia in $3.4 Billion Stock Deal
Holy crap. This has the potential to be great (Adobe combines Fireworks and Photoshop features, integration with Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator) or suck (Adobe kills off Macromedia Suite in favor of its own products). I’m pretty optimistic about the situation though. Maybe it’ll mean that future Macromedia apps for the Mac won’t be so poorly done.
